In 2020, Joe Biden earned the questionable distinction of presiding over the first presidential campaign perhaps in all of US history — though it’s possible I missed something from the Martin Van Buren era — to adopt the practice of habitually holding “public” campaign-style events that the general public was not actually allowed to attend. So far did the strange secrecy go, that basic informational details which interested citizens would have previously been able to easily obtain — such as the time and location of a “rally” — were kept conspicuously hidden. Unlike in past election cycles, Joe and Jane Sixpack could no longer attend such rallies to hear directly from a major party’s presidential or vice presidential candidate. Instead, access was limited to those with insider info; if you were just a normal person who wanted to go, as had generally been available to you for the past couple hundred years, you were out of luck.
You have such a rare combination of keen observational analysis, exceptional vocabulary and writing that never has a hint of pomposity; it's plain spoken in its most elevated form and leaves the reader feeling smarter and big time thanks for that.
It's also wonderful that you don't chase the headlines, but follow the impacts to 'show not tell' why policies are insipid. The COVID fly don't drive between US and Canada gem is a perfect example of news we get nowhere else, unless we catch you with Jimmy Dore, then it's possible to snag previews! :~)
Biden is a virtual President, a Max Headroom for the 2020's. They can't afford to expose him much to "real" people. Hence, disallowing their attendance, substituting "unreal people" - the Democratic Party Apparatchik class - whether they be local or national. These folks will eat whatever shitburger that is served to them, as long as they can hang onto whatever wealth or power that they've accrued. Neo-Byzantine levels of corruption, in this, our very sad death throes of the American Republic/Empire experiment.
There was no enthusiasm for Brandon during the 2020 election cycle. None. I'm here in liberaltopia NYC, and there was zero buzz. Brandon was an empty suit, campaigning from his basement with a mask on, spouting gaffe ridden pre-fab phrases.
Yet, he got more votes than any candidate in American history. Yeah, ok.
I would really like to see more reporting regarding these "psychological" COVID precautions. Liberal resonators have been screeching for months to "trust the science" and it really seems that the so called "science" isn't really there. I have no idea where to get actual information from on COVID anymore and essentially I know as much as I did just as it hit here in 2020 after having been glued to China information for weeks before. It is really infuriating that our country is more governed by these horribly shallow political campaigns than basic logic and coherency. It is even more disheartening that so many people parrot right along.

They fly the rules under the banner of ScienceTM, but plenty, if not the majority, of decisions made about society in the last couple of years have been anything but sound science. It has to be psychological and/or control freaks causing this. They need to just let people live how they want like pre-covid.
